BIOGRAPHY
Alex Green is chief executive officer and co-founder of Radfield Home Care, a Shrewsbury-based UK franchisor of home care businesses. He founded it in 2008 with his sister, Dr Hannah MacKechnie, who is managing director and co-founder. In a March 2026 interview with the British Franchise Association, the two said they remain the decision-makers.
Green and MacKechnie grew up around a residential care home their parents ran in Shrewsbury. He moved back to Shropshire in 2008 to establish Radfield Home Care as an agency model that took that approach into clients' homes. Before that he worked in financial services and then in community media. LinkedIn shows him as a financial services analyst at Halifax (1998 to 2000), financial planning manager at HSBC (2000 to 2003) and managing director of the Manchester community station ALL FM (2002 to 2008). He was Vice Chairman of the Community Media Association in 2005 and 2006. He studied Modern Languages at the University of Manchester (BA, 1995) and was a director of the London youth media social enterprise Reprezent from 2008 until June 2025.
Radfield first grew a company-owned network in Shropshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire and Cheshire before turning to franchising; the co-founders described that shift in the 2026 interview. Green has been a director and company secretary of Radfield Home Care Franchising Limited since June 2015. The British Franchise Association named Radfield Emerging Franchisor of the Year in 2019, and Green gained the Qualified Franchising Professional qualification in 2024. The group says he was recognised in the Care Innovators section of the Home Care Insights Power List 2023.
