Kevin Gunputh
Founder & CEO, Kanesbury Care
Kevin Gunputh is chief executive of Kanesbury Care, formerly LuxuryCare, a family-run group of six care homes in Bournemouth and Poole.
BIOGRAPHY
Kevin Gunputh is founder and chief executive of Kanesbury Care, a family-run group of six care homes in Bournemouth and Poole. The business was known as LuxuryCare until April 2026, when it took the name Kanesbury, which the Bournemouth Echo says is rooted in the Gunputh family. The group employs more than 500 people and runs residential, dementia, nursing and neurological care.
The business began in 2000 with the purchase of Seabourne House in Southbourne, led by Gunputh's parents. Gunputh studied tax law at Bournemouth University and worked as a wealth manager for high-net-worth clients at MLP in London from 2000 to 2003. He joined the family business in 2003. The group says he started by cleaning and caring in the homes and learned each role before moving into management. LinkedIn lists him as founder of Luxurycare Group from June 2003, while the group's own history credits his parents with founding the business in 2000.
He was managing director by March 2017, when Care Home Professional reported that two of the group's four homes, Regency Manor and Aranlaw House, held CQC Outstanding ratings within a month of each other. By January 2022 he was chief executive. That month the group, then five homes and 290 beds, secured a £7.6m refinancing and growth package from the lender ThinCats. By July 2025 the group ran six homes, and it changed its name in 2026.
Outside the group, Gunputh chaired the Dorset Care Homes Association from 2017 to 2019 (LinkedIn). Companies House shows him as a director of Age Concern Bournemouth, the company behind Age UK Bournemouth, Poole & East Dorset, from 18 November 2024 to 23 October 2025. On LinkedIn he writes regularly about care home acquisitions, occupancy and the adult social care workforce.
