Cinapsis

Clinical advice and referral triage platform

Remote monitoring & telehealthClinical workflow & hospital operations

London-founded SaaS platform letting GPs and other referrers get specialist advice and guidance or triage referrals directly via secure video, voice and image sharing, trusted by multiple NHS Integrated Care Boards for teledermatology.

The read

Cinapsis is a clinical communications platform that lets GPs and other referrers get Advice & Guidance from specialists or triage referrals directly via secure text, voice, video and image sharing, without an automatic hospital referral. It is used across dermatology, ophthalmology and emergency-care conveyance decisions, including agreed routing protocols with regional ambulance services.

Founded by ENT surgeon Dr Owain Rhys Hughes, the company has grown through NHS regional deployments rather than large venture rounds, and reports being trusted by seven Integrated Care Board regions for teledermatology referral triage as of 2026.

The Bridgehead view

Cinapsis occupies a narrower, more defensible niche than the broad patient-engagement players: it sells into the clinician-to-clinician referral moment rather than patient-to-GP contact, which is a smaller but stickier wedge once an ICB standardises on it for a specialty like dermatology.
