Manjeet Rai founded Capital Care Group in 2004 and runs its nine care homes across the Midlands and North West. She is a patron of The Care Workers' Charity.
BIOGRAPHY
Manjeet Rai founded Capital Care Group in 2004 and is its chief executive officer. The group runs nine nursing, residential and dementia care homes in the Midlands and North West: Anville Court in Wolverhampton, Chesford Grange and Westfield Lodge in Stoke-on-Trent, Evedale in Coventry, Haresbrook Park in Tenbury Wells, Hillcrest Manor and Portland House in Shrewsbury, Town Thorns in Rugby and Weston Park in Macclesfield. The group's website calls her Founder and CEO. Her LinkedIn profile, and press coverage in 2024, describe her as managing director.
Before care she worked in sales and management at Staybrite Windows from 1994 to 2004, according to LinkedIn. The group's own biography says she started the company in 2004 by buying Hillcrest Manor in Shrewsbury. Companies House records Capital Care Group Limited as incorporated on 3 March 2004, with Rai as a director from the same day.
Her son Ravi Rai joined the business in 2008 and is chief financial officer. He is a CIMA-qualified accountant. The group adopted a holding company structure on 1 April 2015, with each home held in its own subsidiary. Rai announced the arrival of Town Thorns in Rugby on LinkedIn in June 2025. In May 2026 she posted that the group was taking on the Holiday Inn Kettering. In March 2026 she shared the group's recognition among the Top 20 mid-size care home groups in the UK.
In April 2024 The Care Workers' Charity named Rai as one of its patrons. The charity said she would work with it on campaigns to raise awareness of the support it offers to care workers.
