Dr Olivia Curno

Chief Executive, Elizabeth Finn Homes

Dr Olivia Curno is Chief Executive of Elizabeth Finn Homes, a charity-owned group of eight care homes, and a board member of Care England.

BIOGRAPHY

Dr Olivia Curno is Chief Executive of Elizabeth Finn Homes, which runs eight care homes in England. The group is a wholly owned subsidiary of the charity Turn2us, and 100% of its rent and profit passes to the charity to fund its work on financial insecurity. She is also a board member of Care England and a trustee of the Helen Bamber Foundation.

She became Chief Executive at the end of March 2023, after six years as a trustee of Turn2us. Before that she was Chief Executive of the Vision Foundation (formerly the Greater London Fund for the Blind) from August 2018, and led its rebrand, which launched on World Sight Day on 10 October 2019. Her earlier charity career was in fundraising: Director of Fundraising at the children's mental health charity Place2Be from 2014 to 2018, Head of Fundraising and Communications at the autism research charity Autistica from 2012 to 2014, and fundraising roles at Place2Be from 2009. Before the charity sector she was a researcher and lecturer in evolutionary biology, and she holds a PhD in biological sciences from the University of Nottingham.

At Elizabeth Finn Homes she worked with staff and residents on the group's values: bring love, welcome all, inspire more, and act with purpose. In 2024 the group launched an enhanced family leave policy that pays 13 weeks at full pay, 13 weeks at half pay and 13 weeks at the statutory rate. It covers birth parents, partners and adopters. She has since argued in Care Management Matters that other providers should follow.

In June 2026 she wrote the foreword to Care England's The Overlooked Majority, a report on gender and career progression in adult social care. The report records that women make up 78% of the adult social care workforce and hold 41% of board-level positions. Care Home Professional named her on its Power List 2026, and she is due to speak at the Owners' & Directors' Forum at Care Show Birmingham on 7 October 2026.
