Clinical pathway decision support
London clinical decision support company whose rules-based AI encodes cancer treatment pathways to help multidisciplinary teams triage patients to the right care faster.
The read
Deontics builds rules-based clinical decision support software that encodes agreed cancer treatment pathways, helping multidisciplinary teams triage patients to standard of care faster. Its prostate cancer pathway tool, evaluated at Guy's and St Thomas' and King's College Hospital, was reported to triage a third of patients straight to standard of care without needing a full MDT discussion.
The underlying technology traces back to research at the UK Medical Research Council, Cancer Research UK, Oxford University and UCL, led by the late Professor John Fox, a pioneer of the clinical-logic language underpinning the platform.
The Bridgehead view
Deontics' peer-reviewed evaluation in a clinical journal, rather than a company blog post, is a rarer standard of evidence in this cohort and worth highlighting whenever the story is about AI's readiness for genuine clinical triage decisions rather than administrative support.
